Thinking inside, outside, and all around the box

We pride ourselves on our range of services and can-do company attitude. So, when Innocent Packaging came to us with an unconventional brief, we were excited to give it our best shot. We needed to build a biodegradable recycling bin, which came with a unique set of challenges. What to make it out of? How big to make it? How do we make it look good? How do we find a balance between ‘biodegradable’ and ‘degrades five minutes after you put a wet coffee cup in there’?

We settled on a dual solution – a cardboard-based material known as ‘e-flute’ for the main bin, plus a compostable liner for extra durability. We pored over shapes, eventually settling on tapered sides for a touch of class and a ‘minimalist’ overall look.

We also offer custom printing if a particular bin recipient requests it. The result? A good look for the environment, a good look for any business wanting to promote sustainability, and a good look for us. Our solution makes recycling extremely easy, encouraging ‘greener’ consumer behaviour. The entire bin can be sent for processing, and there’s no extra plastic being added to landfill. We currently process orders for anything between 5 and 100 bins, but have the capacity to manage thousands – so watch this space!
